Dumbbell-Shaped Rhabdomyosarcoma: Two-Stage Surgical Resection
Female neonate admitted to our hospital with an abdominal mass and a thigh mass that were connected as a single dumbbell-shaped mass. CT was done on admission that showed cystic swelling in the thigh with intra-abdominal extension passing under inguinal ligament, most probably lymphangioma. The patient was assessed and prepared for surgery starting with the abdominal part then after two days fo...
متن کاملDumbbell-shaped epidural capillary hemangioma.
We report a case of a purely epidural capillary hemangioma of the thoracic spine with foraminal extension. Epidural hemangiomas are rare; only a few cases of dumbbell-shaped ones have been reported, and all were cavernous. MR imaging showed characteristic findings of a capillary hemangioma, which are also consistent with other epidural lesions such as neuromas or meningiomas.
متن کاملHuge dumbbell shaped glossopharyngeal schwannoma
Schwannomas arising from the 9th, 10th and 11th cranial nerves (also called jugular foramen schwannoma) without associated neurofibromatosis are relatively uncommon [1]. Schwannomas arising from the glossopharyngeal nerve are rare and fewer than 50 cases have been reported in the literature [1-4]. Glossopharyngeal schwannoma presenting in childhood is extremely rare and to our knowledge only 4 ...
متن کاملS-shaped Wound Closure Technique for Dumbbell-shaped Keloids
Dog-ear collection, Z-plasty, and W-plasty are often performed for excision of dumbbell-shaped keloids; however, these procedures require additional incisions or excision of normal skin. Thus, an S-shaped wound closure technique was performed. The keloid lesions were extralesionally excised above the deep fascia, and the wound edges were shifted in opposite directions along the major axis to fo...
متن کاملResection of a dumbbell-shaped thoracic neurinoma by hemilaminectomy: a case report.
Neurinomas originating from intercostal nerve roots can grow both inside and outside of the spinal canal, forming dumbbell-shaped tumors. Such a neurinoma was discovered at the Th3 and Th4 levels in a 73-year-old woman during evaluation for breast cancer surgery. Magnetic resonance images (MRI) showed spinal cord compression by the tumor despite lack of neurologic symptoms. The tumor was resect...
